COVID-19 recovery rate in JK reaches 75 percent as 1250 more patients recover

SRINAGAR, Sept 29: The COVID-19 recovery rate reached almost 75 percent today after 1,250 more such patients recovered and were discharged from the different hospitals of Jammu & Kashmir. Out of 74,095 positive cases in the union territory 55,517 cases have recovered so far.
In the meantime, 1081 fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported today while as 18 more persons died due to the virus in the past 24 hours. Following the latest deaths the total number of casualties due to COVID-19 in Jammu & Kashmir is 1164.
Jammu district reported 313 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 222 cases, Baramulla district 62 cases, Rajouri district 61 cases, Udhampur district 49 cases, Kishtwar district 46 cases, Samba district 44 cases, Kupwara district 36 cases, Doda district 34 cases, Budgam and Kathua districts 29 cases each, Ramban district 28 cases, Pulwama and Ganderbal districts 24 cases each, Bandipora district 22 cases, Poonch district 21 cases, Reasi district 15 cases, Anantnag district 11 cases, Kulgam district seven cases and Shopian district four cases.
Jammu district reported six fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by Udhampur district three deaths, Srinagar and Baramulla districts two deaths each and a death each in Budgam, Anantnag, Kupwara, Rajouri & Ramban districts. So far 833 Corona Virus patients have died in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 331.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 1,081 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 640 from Jammu division and 441 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 74,095. Also 18 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 11 from Jammu division and seven from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1,250 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 615 from Jammu Division and 635 from Kashmir Division. Out of 74,095 positive cases, 17,414 are active positive, 55,517 have recovered and 1,164 have died; 331 in Jammu division and 833 in Kashmir division.
Out of 16, 00,606 test results available, 15, 26,511 samples have tested as negative till date. Till date 5, 73,200 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 14,281 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 17,414 in isolation and 52,052 under home surveillance. Besides, 4, 88,289 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 14,712 positive cases, 2,138 active positive, 12,285 recovered, 289 deaths; Budgam has 4,820 positive cases, 964 active positive, 3,774 recovered, 82 deaths; Baramulla has 4,335 positive cases, 1,280 active positive, 2,931 recovered, 124 deaths; Pulwama has 3,909 positive cases, 433 active positive, 3,408 recovered, 68 deaths; Kupwara has 3,575 positive cases, 816 active positive, 2,692 recovered, 67 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,503 positive cases, 431 active positive, 3,009 recovered, 63 deaths; Bandipora has 3,385 positive cases, 478 active positive, 2,870 recovered, 37 deaths; Ganderbal has 2,868 positive cases, 388 active positive, 2,452 recovered, 28 deaths; Kulgam has 2,260 positive cases, 118 active positive, 2,099 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,025 positive cases, 193 active positive, 1,800 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 12,662 positive cases, 3,585 active positive, 8,897 recovered, 180 deaths; Rajouri has 2,626 positive cases, 1,307 active positive, 1,288 recovered, 31 deaths; Udhampur has 2,212 positive cases, 490 active positive, 1,704 recovered, 18 deaths; Doda has 2,193 positive cases, 1,110 active positive, 1,056 recovered, 27 deaths; Kathua has 2,051 positive cases, 526 active positive, 1,504 recovered, 21 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,747 positive cases, 936 active positive, 799 recovered, 12 deaths; Samba has 1,738 positive cases, 810 active positive, 908 recovered, 20 deaths; Ramban has 1,323 positive cases, 455 active positive, 858 recovered, 10 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,206 positive cases, 562 active positive, 637 recovered, seven deaths and Reasi has 945 positive cases, 394 active positive, 546 recovered, five deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 74,095 positive cases in J&K, 8,747 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
