Jammu, Sept 30: On the occasion of celebration of 151th birth anniversary of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi, NCC and NSS units of GGM Science College organized various activities and events scheduled for three days under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Pushp Amla. Dr. Narender kumar and Dr. Deepali Mahajan (NSS PO’s) , Dr.(Capt) Anjana Sharma and Dr. Fraz Ahmed;( NCC ANOs) supervised the activities of NSS volunteers and NCC cadets. Today Plantation drive in college premises was done by the units by planting 5 saplings of Thevitia nerifolia ( Kaner)and Mangifera indica (Mango). Another poster making event with theme Cleanliness, hygiene and Covid 19 was also done by NSS and NCC. The aim of today’s event was to aware to save earth by planting caring trees and to learn how this pandemic made clear the importance of hygiene. As Gandhiji always emphasised on building cleaner healthy environment. Students and cadets also participated from home planting trees in homes and localities. |
