10/1/2020 12:37:00 AM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 30: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today urged the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to direct competent authorities in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir to make elaborate arrangements for smooth and safe conduct of Civil Services Preliminary Examination to be held by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on October 4. He said, maximum halls of designated colleges across J&K should be engaged in the process, so that examination halls don’t get crowded. Raman Suri said that since we are passing through critical phase of COVID-19 pandemic and there is going to be seven hours exam divided into two shifts of two-hour each along with a three-hour break between the shifts, it must be made sure that minimum number of candidates are made to sit in one hall. The lesser the number, the better it would be in a way that maximum social distance will be maintained and breath of candidates will also not affect each other. Wearing masks for seven hours will be very tough for candidates as such, so the only best solution left is to put minimum number of candidates in a hall. Raman Suri said, now that exams have not been postponed and are going to be held as per schedule, all we can do is make sure that candidates don’t crowd places, halls stay ventilated and properly sanitised both, before and after the shifts. Also, more and more class rooms should be used to maintain proper distancing.
