Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 30: The Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) is allegedly proving to be a cruel joke with the gullible public on the pretext of preventing COVID-19 from spreading within the community, sources said on Wednesday.
They said, several medical teams have been hurriedly rushed to Jagti colony to conduct Rapid Antigen Testing on the people followed by surge in COVID cases in the colony for quite some time. The positive patients have been accommodated in respective community halls here.
The camp commandants appealed people to come to these centres and get tested for the virus which has infected the masses in large number across the region.
Though the cause was noble one, but conducting RAT on people have left some imprints of bad taste on the minds of the people.
For instance a woman namely Sunita Pandita who was declared positive for coronavirus by the medical team at Jagti camp immediately rushed to a renowned private clinical laboratory in Jammu city where she tested negative for the same.
Now a million dollar question is that whose reading is correct? If RAT team is showing wrong testing results then they are playing with the lives of people physically ,mentally and psychologically instead of providing any sigh of relief.
Though administration has failed to provide any medical facilities to people who are infected by the virus in COVID hospitals in Jammu but the matter is serious and should be sorted out taking medical experts into confidence to form a workable strategy to treat the COVID patients in hospitals.
People alleged that the Health Department seems to be in no mood to streamline working of COVID staff as well as other paramedical personnel who for one reason or the other are blamed for their poor performance in their respective duties.
