Early Times Report

REASI, Sept 30: Tehsildar Pouni, Lekh Raj instead of taking action against the ‘powerful’ man who has virtually devastated the agriculture in the tehsil passes on the information and as such the violator of law escapes action.
A local told Early Times that this morning he called on Tehsidar Pouni and apprised him of the excavation of agriculture land in the Latter Panchayat. The local said that he was expecting the officer to take action against the ‘powerful’ man who runs a brick kiln in the area. “Instead of taking action against the powerful man the Tehsildar called on the violator and asked him to avoid make correction so that the complaint is considered as false. This is sheer misuse of powers and action needs to be taken against the Tehsildar. He is holding the entire system as hostage and as such he needs to be accounted for his actions,” said the local.
It would be in place to mention here that the powerful man has virtually vandalized the agriculture land in the ward number 1of village Dudwah. He has excavated the agriculture land in the village and same is used for making of bricks at the brick kiln located some distance away. The soil is transported with the help of JCBs and tractors from the fields to brick kiln.
Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib said that a probe has been ordered in the matter and that action would be taken. Similar views were expressed by Tehsildar Pouni although he seems to be hand in glove with the powerful man.
