GDC Ramnagar celebrates Mahatama Gandhi birth anniversary

Ramnagar, Oct 1: A five days online Inter collegiate workshop was organized by Government Degree College Ramnagar in collaboration “Art of Living” a spiritual and social international organization, which would conclude on 2nd of October.
NSS unit GDC Ramnagar organized an inter collegiate online series of programmes to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi from 28th sep.to 2nd oct.2020 .The workshop began with online registration of the students whereby all the volunteer participants of different Govt.and private institutions were provided with an online link to upload the material related to various competetions.
Prof.Hari Singh convener of the programme gave welcome address in the inaugural function. The activities included “TRASH TO TREASURE OR BEST OUT OF THE WASTE” On the theme Charkha, Three monkeys of Gandhiji, Spectacles, Khadaon and Dhoti .
The second activity was “ESSAY WRITING “on the theme ,Concepts of craft and vocational education of Gandhiji.The third event in the series included ‘POSTER MAKING”28th to 30th sep. with the theme with Cleanliness is close to godliness special reference to Pandemic Covid 19.An interactive session for students being also organized for students with an instructor Mr.Rohit Ranjan from ‘ART OF LIVING” was chief resource person, who enlightened the audiences on “ROLE OF YOGA IN PEACE OF MIND” Mr.Ranjan also gave special tips to the participants in dealing with anxiety and fatigue during pandemic covid 19. In total 52 participants across all colleges of jammu division participated out of which15 in trash to treasure,20 in essay writing and 17 in poster making.
On the concluding day worthy principal of the college Prof.Dr.Udhey Bhanu presented a floral tribute to the Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi along with the staff members ,he also appealed the participants to follow the teachings and principles of the father of nation. The entire programme was organized and coordinated byNSS programme officer of the college Prof.Yash Paul who also presented the vote of thanks on this occasion.
The other members of staff who remained present on this occasion were Prof.Hari Singh(convener)Prof.Om Parkash,Prof.Sanjeev Kumar and Prof. Divya Puri(Members of NSS CO-Ordination committee).The first three positions in all events will be awarded with cash prizes on opening of colleges along with the e-certificates to all participants.
