2100 MGNREGA, 14 FC works completed in Udhampur: DC

UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today said that 2100 development works under MGNREGA and 14 FC have been completed in the district and the works under other sectors are going in full pace.
The DC was speaking to media persons regarding the "Back to Village" phase 3 starting in the district from tomorrow.
While briefing the media persons about the objectives of the flagship programme, the DDC informed that a Gazetted officer has been deputed to each Panchayat where he/she will stay for two nights and three days and assess the development and economic potential . He said the focus of the programme is to energise Panchayats, collect feedback on delivery of government schemes/services and undertake assessment of needs of the villages. He appealed the public to come forward and actively participate in this campaign.
He also highlighted pre back to village activities conducted by District Administration. In this regard, he said that about 2100 developmental works under MGNREGA and 14th FC have been completed in the District while rest of woks in different sectors will be completed shortly.
The DDC sought the cooperation of the media in highlighting public issues, government welfare schemes and other activities. He also appealed the media persons representing different news agencies to disseminate the information among the common masses about the programme so that the people can avail maximum benefits.
