SKUAST Jammu organises debate competition on NEP-2020

Jammu, Oct 1: To commemorate 151st Birth Anniversary of father of nation Mahatma Gandhi, Deans Student Welfare and NSS wing of SKUAST-Jammu under the guidance of Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu Prof. J P Sharma, organized a virtual debate competition on “National Education Policy (NEP-2020): Vision for Excellence in Higher Education”.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Rajesh Katoch, Dean Student Welfare, SKUAST-Jammu.
He had given a brief account on new education policy and the principles, values of truth, non-violence, harmony, morality and simplicity of Mahatma Gandhi’s life as well as he remembered the hard work and simplicity of Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of India.
He welcomes the participants and judges attending the online programme. In this debate a large number of SKUAST-Jammu students participated and presented their views on new National Education Policy-2020.
Dr. Swarandeep Singh Hundal, Professor, Department of Zoology, PAU, Ludhiana; Dr. P.N. Dwivedi, Professor, Department of Microbiology, GADVASU, Ludhiana; and Dr. Devina Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Parasitology, CSKHPKV, Palampur were among the panel of judges. During post-evaluation, judges appreciated the efforts and views expressed by the participants. Chahat Sharma and Tanjot were declared winner in the category of ‘for and against the motion’,whereas, Rishbha Raina and Shafali Jeet Kour adjudged as runner up in the same category. Organizing committee congratulated all the winners and participants of the debate competition.
