GDC Akhnoor organizes cleanliness drive

Jammu, Oct 1: Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor organised two events today in context of series of events being organised in order to commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Firstly, a cleanliness drive/Swachta Abhiyaan was undertaken at 10 am in college premises in order to promote awareness about clean environment. All the teaching and non- teaching staffs of the college were engaged in this cleanliness drive.
At 11am, an online webinar on theme “Celebrating 151st Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi” was organised.
The event started with welcome address being given by Prof. Sonia Bhau, HOD Commerce and coordinator of the event. The resource person on this occasion was worthy Principal of the college Dr. Namarta, who presented her thoughts on “Gandhi ji as an inspiration and example for simple living and high thinking”.
She stressed upon and motivated students by her speech to adopt attributes of Gandhiji’s life to become successful in life. Students from different colleges of Jammu have participated in the event.
The event concluded with vote of thanks being given by Dr. Aksa Rao, HOD English and Convenor of the event.
The online webinar was successfully organised in collaboration with DN Sharma, Assistant Professor, Computer Department.
