Mayor visits various parts of city, reviews development activities

JAMMU, Oct 1: In its endeavour to provide better development and civic amenities as well as pollution free atmosphere to the people of Jammu city under “Clean & Green Jammu”, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, along with Avny Lavasa Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and Surinder Chowdhary, Councilor of Ward No 29 today conducted an extensive tour from Pawan Ice Cream Parlour towards Cremation Ground Shakti Nagar area.
Vijay Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer, SK Bhatt Junior Engineer Division-II & other supervisory staff of sanitation section of JMC and prominent inhabitants of Ward No 29 and 33 also accompanied the Mayor and Commissioner, JMC during the tour. Mayor told that as the work of four laning as well as construction of flyovers on the Akhnoor Road is in progress, this lane upto Best Price, Paloura has become a thorough fare and it is dire need for doing development activities in terms of establishment of more and more green strips & footpaths, plantation of saplings alongside of Canal for providing green & eco-friendly atmosphere for the convenience of the inhabitants. He also directed the Engineering Wing JMC to take immediate steps for renovation / installation of tiles around the two open gyms on this road which is the long pending demands of the locals. Commissioner assured the Mayor as well as locals that every possible step be taken in completing the left over Green Spaces & other allied works on this particular road and directed the field staff to remove all the waste material, mulba, garbage etc lying on the road side by applying requisite number of men and machinery & maintain proper sanitation on regular basis. Besides this, Mayor along with Suraj Parkash Padha, Chairman, Swacch Bharat Standing Committee, JMC also inaugurated an Open Air GYM with requisite number of equipments at park in Ward No 67. RS Chib, BJP Distt President & other prominent inhabitants of the ward as well Mohit Mahajan, Executive Engineer & other field staff of Project Division JMC were also present there during the inauguration function.
