ABVP delegation submits memorandum to DSE Jammu

Jammu, Oct 1: A delegation of ABVP Jammu Kashmir today called on Directorate of School Education and submitted a memorandum demanding inclusion of Sanskrit Subject in School & College across Jammu Kashmir and State Sanskrit University should be set up.
Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Jammu Kashmir State Secretary Mukesh Manhas asserted that the regulatory bodies should give priority to institutions to Start Sanskrit as a Subject in every school and college.
He said that Sanskrit subject should be introduced at every higher secondary (10+2) level and college throughout Jammu Kashmir. He further said there is a need of the hour that Sanskrit department should be set up in every University across Jammu Kashmir. There is a need that a State Sanskrit University should be set up in Jammu for the betterment of Jammu Kashmir. In Jammu Kashmir there are only 4 Gurukuls where Sanskrit are studied, One Central Sanskrit University and one department of Sanskrit at Jammu University and one at Kashmir University where Sanskrit are studied.
It also came to light Sanskrit Subject is not available in newly sanctioned degree colleges so there is a need that Sanskrit as a subject should be introduce in all newly colleges . There are only 48 posts of Lecturers, Assistant Professors and Teachers in Sanskrit Subject which has been sanctioned since 2010 in Jammu Kashmir and many of them are vacant.
