No follow up system in place for patients in home quarantine in Rajouri, Poonch

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 1: The Health Department in Rajouri and Poonch districts seems to be least bothered to keep track of patients diagnosed with asymptomatic COVID, who have been put under home quarantine as there is no follow up system being adopted by the department.
Sources told Early Times that the guidelines to be adopted by the health department for the patients with asymptomatic COVID under home quarantine are being ignored as no health team is sent to check these patients at their homes.
Moreover, there is no check on the part of concerned health dept to ensure whether patients have been spending their home quarantine period properly as it has been observed that most of the patients have not been following SOPs in Rajouri and Poonch, and can be seen roaming in the market, interacting with public, which is prone to infect more people.
“At least the health department should depute a team to find out whether the asymptomatic patients have been following SOPs or not. Besides, the patients have not been provided with oximeters to keep track of the oxygen saturation despite the fact that providing oximeters has been made mandatory,” they further said that at least 70 percent of patients under home quarantine have not been given this device.
Although the Health Department makes tall claims of making all arrangements and handling the situation efficiently but the aggravating situation exposes its claims. Despite repeated calls Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Rajouri didn’t pick up the phone.
