SUNDERBANI, Oct 1: A big scam has come up in one of the Panchayats of this tehsil in Rajouri district as a brick kiln is running without renewal license. The owner of the brick kiln has been running the brick kiln without the consent of people for the past 26 years. Sources told Early Times that the brick kiln is functioning in residential area and people are suffering from different diseases due to the dust and smoke. Air pollution, water pollution and noise pollution are at peak. The government guidelines issued under SRO 504 Act 2010 section 26 are being violated since there is no Chimmney. “The people approached the owner of brick kiln to shift the same to some other area or improve it's functioning but the owner did not give any heed to the same. A PHE well has been dug near the brick kiln and as such the people of this area are suffering on this front as well. The government rules are being trampled like anything by the owner of brick kiln,” said sources.
Sources said the license of brick kiln has expired back in 2017 and the same has not been renewed so far. They said that despite the fact that the brick kiln is operating illegally no action has been taken against the owner of the brick kiln. They said that repeated requests to people at helm have fallen on deaf ears. |
