DDC Udhampur conducts public outreach camp at Block Ghordi

UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: Government-public interface program ‘Back to Village’ witnessed massive response of the people on the ninth day. The public appreciated officers reaching them at their doorsteps and taking note of their basic requirements and challenges. With astute focus on energizing Panchayat, collecting feedback on the delivery of government programmes, capturing specific economic potential and undertaking need based assessment of the villages, the officers visited all 236 Panchayats in 17 blocks of Udhampur district under this program. District Development Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla conducted an extensive tour of Block Ghordi and listened to the people’s issues. Enroute, the DDC inaugurated the work of blacktopping of a road being constructed by PMGSY from Ritti to Kuperla and also listened to the public grievances . While inaugurating the blacktopping work, the DDC said that road connectivity is the prerequisite for the overall development of the area. He said that the objective of B2V3 is to assess the infrastructural gap in the area. He asked the PMGSY department to expedite the completion of ongoing developmental projects and complete these projects within a given time frame. Directions were issued to concerned officers to gear up men and machinery for effective and timely completion of these developmental projects.
Chair person BDC Ghordi, Arti Sharma, in her welcome address highlighted the issues of the Block.
The BDC Chairperson and PRIs projected many issues and sought Guest house at Block Head Quarter Ghordi, better Mobile net work, Up-gradation of schools, Health centre, posting of lady doctor in PHC Ghordi, making BSNL exchange functional at Ghordi, Tehsil status for Ghordi, Inclusion of area on tourism map, release of pending MGNREGA liability, provision of 24x7 Ambulance at Barmeen.
, Organization of camp for physically and handicapped beneficiaries at block level, New road from Purana rani to Malal, compensation of land acquired, repair of damaged PHE pipes, Up-gradation of primary and middle school, improvement of internal roads, etc
During the programme, DDC distributed golden cards under Ayushman Bharat schemes, KCCs, Domicile Certificates, Hearing aids, Crutches, Sports kits, Mamta kits under BBBP, Besides entrepreneurship development sanctioned cases by J&K Bank, Soil health cards etc among the beneficiaries.
After conducting the public grievances camp, the DDC reviewed developmental projects and took feedback from departments and directed for timely completion of projects.
