JTC, SKF protest dharna continues, enters 15th day

JAMMU, Oct 17: The Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K continued their protest dharna for the 15th day today. The committee members staged a strong protest and blocked interior roads in Jagti for an hour today.
Addressing the protesting members, JTC & SKF president Shadi Lal Pandita said that tomorrow there will be rallies and sit-ins up to the National Highway near Jagti.
Pandita said that the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha should visit Jagti Township as soon as possible where Kashmiri Pandits are protesting and are on hunger strike.
He said that the Kashmiri Pandits are the victims of oppression; our community is being deceived as the present government is not meeting our legitimate demands and is not increasing the monthly cash relief of relief holders from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 and sought establishment of three satellite townships in three districts of Kashmir valley viz Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag with political and minority status to KPs. He also demanded adequate compensation to each and every landlord for the losses to their properties during the last 30 years.
Pandita demanded that the jobs should be given in those houses where there is no government employee, adding that if the government does not address our demands as soon as possible we will intensify the agitation.
Pandita said that today is the 15th day of our agitation and it will continue till government meets our demands, adding that this is a fight for justice.
The government should solve the demands of Jagti Tenement Committee, Soan Kashmir Front J&K as soon as possible, he said.
