10/18/2020 12:32:35 AM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 17: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, K K Sharma, today reviewed the admission process of undergraduate courses of Cluster University, Jammu with Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Jammu.
Pertinently it was felt that due to pandemic situation this year, admission process in many courses has got affected and more number of students have applied to the premier colleges of Jammu, under the Cluster University.
In view of this situation, the Advisor directed that the intake capacity in various colleges of Cluster University be kept the same for 2020-21 session as was for the 2019-20 session, thus resulting in an increase of about 800 seats. Besides, as per University rules, about 1000 seats of different categories, for which there are no applicants, shall be offered for admission, informed the VC. Further as a one time measure, the Vice Chancellor was authorised to allow admission up to a maximum of 10% additional seats for the session 2020-21 only, in those courses where there is extra demand, in view of Covid-19 pandemic because of which many students are facing difficulties in seeking admission outside and want to pursue studies in Colleges within the UT.
Advisor was apprised about 1183 vacant seats in the affiliated colleges of Jammu University in Paloura, Marh, Kunjwani, Bhagwati Nagar and other nearby colleges in Jammu. The last date for admission for these seats has already been extended by Jammu University, the Vice Chancellor informed.
