DC Jammu reviews arrangements for “My town, My Pride” programme

JAMMU, Octg 17: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the successful conduct of two day “My town, My pride “ programme being held on 19th and 20th October, 2020.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the preparatory measures being made by different line departments. She asked the officers of the all the line departments to participate and make the two day drive a people friendly and impressionable event.
She informed that Melas will be organised where each department will put up a stall to spread awareness among people regarding various welfare schemes and also for on the spot redress of their grievances.
The DC said that different locations have been identified for the activities adding that a camp will be held at Parade Ground for the residents living in Jammu Municipal Corporation limits, while the rest of the municipal committees will identify their respective locations.
Regarding on the spot services, she said the concerned departments would issue domicile certificates, labour cards and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana cards to registered Labourers, besides registration for Social welfare schemes, scholarships and other benefits will also be held. The DC asked the senior officers to work in synergy so that people do not face any inconvenience.
She said that Visiting Officers, along with other officers would inspect the ongoing works taken up by different departments. The DC said that all the line departments will exclusively depute senior officers for the two day Urban outreach programme.
Director ULB along with members of ULB and JMC Commissioner shall hold meetings to chalk out the strategy to provide maximum benefits to the people during the drive.
She also directed CMO and CEO to visit schools and inspect health infra in the health institutions.
On the second day of drive, various sports activities will be conducted followed by distribution of sports kits to the youth.
Those present in the meeting were JMC Commissioner Avni Lavasa; Assistant Labour Commissioner Jammu, Divya Nanda; AD Handicrafts Namrita Bhan; ARTO Jammu, Salim Mohammed; besides CPO, ACR, CEO, CMO, besides senior officers of the concerned departments and banks.
