BJP makes ‘Gupkar Declaration’ Jammu v/s Kashmir issue to hide own failures
10/18/2020 12:42:42 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 17: BJP is all out to make the ‘Gupkar Declaration’ as Jammu v/s Kashmir issue to counter signatories of this declaration by involving leaders of various religious and social organizations of Jammu province to hide its own failures.
On Friday BJP convened a meeting of various social and religious organizations to discuss the situation that emerged after formation of ‘Peoples’ Alliance’ in Kashmir Valley to intensify stir for the restoration of Article 370, 35-A and statehood to J&K.
BJP leadership is worried because the party has failed to come up to the expectations of the people of Jammu region so signatories of ‘Gupkar Declaration’ would try to exploit prevailing anger among people.
After August 5, 2019, BJP had promised that situation in Jammu province would be improved and discrimination with this region would be ended in the new dispensation. Instead of ending decades long discrimination, Jammu region is facing step motherly treatment in all spheres of life due to failure of the local BJP leadership.
Kashmir centric parties are very much aware that people of Jammu region are annoyed with local BJP leadership for bartering their wishes and aspirations just to petty personal gains so they (Kashmir centric) would seize this opportunity to involve Jammuities in campaign to restore pre-August 5, 2019 position.
Except for sanctioning more and more toll plazas, BJP leadership has done nothing to solve problems of the people of Jammu region. Complete crumbling of the health sector in an glaring example of the failure of the BJP leadership to provide basic amenities to the people of Jammu region.
On the condition of anonymity a senior BJP leader said that party will not allow signatories of ‘Gupkar Declaration’ to involve people of Jammu region in their game-plan.
“Aim of Friday’s meeting was to caution leaders of various social and political organizations against evil designs of Kashmir centric parties”, he said but admitted that Kashmir centric parties would try to exploit prevailing anger among people of Jammu against failure of party leadership in fulfilling their wishes and aspirations.
Meanwhile BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina has dismissed ‘Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration’ as ‘an alliance of puppets dancing to the tunes of Pakistan and China’. He asserted that people of Jammu region had unanimously decided that they will not allow ‘Farooq and company’ to further the Pakistani and Chinese agenda under the garb of the Gupkar Declaration.
