Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 19: BJP Executive Member, J&K, Nitish Mahajan asserted that ‘Citizen Services Mela’ being organised under the public outreach programme ‘My Town, My Pride’ would reap good results of public service delivery and grievances redressal.
While interacting with the people of Trikuta Nagar, Nitish said that ‘My Town My Pride’ has been launched by the Lt Governor’s administration to further empower and strengthen the framework of the Urban Local Bodies and the 2-day programme will include closer review of their functioning besides taking up mobilisation of funds towards developmental activities in addition to the public outreach. He emphasised that the two-day long flagship programme for the Urban areas shall be conducted on the lines of Back to Village programme during which camps would be set up to listen to their grievances and to provide them a number of government services at their doorsteps. Mahajan appreciated the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha for conducting ‘Citizen Service Mela’ for the welfare of general public so that common masses would avail the benefits of schemes brought in by the BJP led government for their good. He said such initiatives were taken aiming to reach out to people for maximum coverage under beneficiary oriented schemes, grievance redressal and participatory planning process.
