Jammu, Oct 19: Prof J P Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu inaugurated “an outlet for sale of Abdullian milk cake” at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R.S.Pura, Jammu, which also exemplifies vividly “Vocal for local”. On this occasion Prof J P Sharma, Vice Chancellor SKUAST Jammu briefed that we are surplus on raw production of milk especially in the R.S.Pura belt and dairy farmers are not fetching the optimum price of their produce. Therefore, dairy processing should be the mandate of dairy farmers which not only enhances their income but the consumer will also get the pure and hygienic milk product to fetch value for their money.
The outlet not only provides a new marketing linkage of Abdullian milk cake to city of Jammu, but also the urban population has the easy access to calcium and iron enriched milk cake. This outlet is an attempt to bring Abdullian on the National food-map by extending marketing linkages and providing easy-access for urban population to Abdullian’s milk cake. He declared that University will soon launch a campaign to popularize the Government schemes linked to Agriculture and Animal Husbandry under ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’ Dr M S Bhadwal, Dean of the FVSc & AH SKUAST-J on the occasion impressed upon further enhancement of Abdullian milk cake in terms of both quality and quantity. He also emphasizes on production of Abdullian milk cake as per the guidelines of FSSAI. Dr. Sunil Kumar, Head Division of Live Stock Product Technology express that this outlet provides the exquisite marketing platform to sale scientifically intervened pure, fresh and hygienic sale of milk cake made by “Laxminarayan milk cake associates”. |
