Prof Ashutosh chairs J&K Olympic Association meeting

Jammu, Oct 19: Special General Body Meeting of J&K Olympic Association held under the chairmanship of Prof. (Dr) Ashutosh Sharma President, J&K Olympic Association. In his address he congratulated all the newly elected members of the Association.
Prof. Sharma also informed the members, that it is first meeting of JKOA after Feb-2020 and apprise the members that meeting could not be held because of COVID-19 Pandemic. After welcoming all the members, he requested Hony. General Secretary Dushyant Sharma to take up the agenda items.
Jugal Kishore Sharma (MP) who has been nominated as Patron of J&K Olympic Association and also President of Archery Association of J&K, was also invited as Special Guest in the meeting. He praised the functioning of J&K Olympic Association and gave patient hearing to the members of the Association.
He also assured that he will arrange meeting of delegation of J&K Olympic Association with Lieutenant Governor-J&K for their genuine demands about sports. He further said that to provide all possible help and cooperation to improve sports in J&K UT.
Hony. General Secretary Dushyant Sharma, also stressed to resume sports activities in J&K UT as per the Guidelines of MHA and Ministry of Sports GOI. He also informed that recently J&K Police had successfully conducted tournaments of Water Sports and Cycling in Kashmir valley.
He further added that Lieutenant Governor J&K has great vision and interests in sports and promoting sports at all level, and also introducing new policies in sports and taking great initiatives for sports in every district of J&K.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and passed by the house and report of Hony. General Secretary was adopted by the house.
Accounts of the Association were presented by Hony. Treasurer and passed by the house. Prominent other sitting on Dias were present Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, Kiran Wattal along with other office bearers including Presidents, General Secretaries of the various recognized Sports Associations and chairman of committees, Executive Members and other were present in the meeting.
Kuldeep Handoo (Dronacharya Awardee) who is also nominated as Chairman Technical Committee of J&K Olympic Association also present the meeting. The house Congratulated Handoo for receiving prestigious award and wish him best of luck in future. The meeting came to an end with a vote of thanks by S. Bhupinder Singh Tirthi, Treasurer of J&K Olympic Association.
