10/20/2020 12:39:22 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 19: Political Activist Sardar Tajinder Singh welcomed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his remarks that Govt.wil not take long time to restore state hood to Jammu and Kashmir, Singh said the sooner the Union Government fulfill its commitment on re-establishing the state hood in Jammu and Kashmir, the better it would be for the country to ensure peace and development in this troubled region. The solution to multifarious problem faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir on day to day basis and to promote it’s integrated and all around development lies in restoration of Statehood with comprehensive domicile laws protecting the rights of its residents on their land and jobs, Singh added. Questioning the basis and criteria of equal number of 14seats of district development councils ( DDCs) for each district ignoring the area and population of districts and regions into consideration besides the selective intrusion of criteria provision, Tajinder demanded full implementation of provision which already in corporates in state panchayat laws but not implemented yet. Reacting to the sudden decision of creation of district development councils constituencies without taking into account the population and area of each district or region Singh said how it is justified to have equal number of seats in larger district like Jammu with more than eight rural assembly segments and some other bigger district with those district having two assembly segments only.
