EJAC protests against delay in regularization of daily wagers

JAMMU, Oct 20: A massive protest demonstration was held today at the office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu by the central leadership of J&K Govt Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC), Jammu, which was attended and addressed by the senior Trade Union leaders and Central leadership of different Govt Deptts.
All the protesting participants in one voice supported the ongoing struggle of the employees of different Govt Deptts including the Daily Wagers/Casual/Adhoc & Contingency Paid Workers, Rehber-e-Khel (PET) Teachers and other related cadres working since a long in the different Govt Deptts and they have not been regularized due to callous approach of the successive Governments despite the fact that they have completed their requisite period as per the policies framed by the Government. They are working at the meager wages and are waiting for their regularisation in their respective Departments. Moreover, they are not being paid their wages regularly and many of them are unable to meet their both ends meet in these hard days putting their families to the starvation. The JKGEJAC fully supports all the demands of these employees.
All the speakers appealed to the LG, Chief Secretary and the Advisors to take personal initiative to resolve all the issues of the aggrieved employees. The Central Leadership of the JK Govt Employees Joint Action Committee decided to hold the meeting of all the stakeholders to chalk out a comprehensive programme to press upon the Govt to concede the demands of the Daily Wagers, Contingency Paid Workers, Rehber-e-Khel Teachers & other related cadres working in the Deptts of PWD, PDD, PHE, EDU, PSU, CPW, YSS (REK) at the earliest in order to provide the justice to this aggrieved section of the J&K Govt employees. The prominent who addressed the gathering included Sushil Soodan (JK Med. Employees Federation), Ganesh Khajuria (JKTF), Subash Verma, Kartar Chand Dubey, Dalvinder Singh, Balvandar Chand (PHE Employees United Front), Gurmeet Singh (Irrigation) and others.
