Govt . is committed to bring governance to the doorsteps of people : Baseer Khan

ANANTNAG, Oct 20: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today said that the aim of programmes like B2V and ‘My Town My Pride’ is to ensure that governance reaches at the door steps of people in Jammu and Kashmir in a total transparent and accountable manner.
Advisor made these remarks while speaking at a function organised in connection with the Urban Public Outreach programme at Aishmuqam town in Anantnag.
Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, K.K.Sidha along with other officers were also present on the occasion.
While addressing the officials and public, Advisor said that the government is committed to bring governance to the doorsteps of people and several initiatives have been made in this regard.
During his visit, the Advisor also laid the foundation stone of 0.5 km road from Pemdar to Kharteng via Ziyarat Chowk of Aishmuqam. He also inaugurated TFC of PDA near Sumo stand Aishmuqam. During his visit to the town, Advisor also met the locals who raised various developmental demands concerning their areas.
The demands included macadamization of interior roads, establishment of sports stadium, repair of temple, construction of 4 community halls and post office for Aishmuqam.
Advisor assured them that all the genuine demands will be forwarded to concerned authorities for necessary action.
Advisor also distributed sports kits among youths of Aishmuqam town and also gave away cheques under PMAY Scheme among 11 beneficiaries and table tennis kits among 20 Higher Secondary Schools.
Baseer Khan appreciated the mass participation of people in this programme and urged upon them to participate in such kind of programmes for raising and redressal of their demands and problems.
The programme was attended by all district officers, ULB members, social activists, members of civil society, Auqaf Presidents and other government officials.
Meanwhile, in a similar programme held at MC Seer Hamdan the visiting officer Haris Ahmad Handoo, Joint Director Information & Public Relations Kashmir, listened to the demands and grievances of the people. The issues included construction of Seer Rakhi-e-Brah road, proper supply of drinking water, health administrative unit at Seer Sub District Hospital, construction of Seer nambal road desilting of drubal kul and leakage of Martand canal near sub-district hospital Seer.
