Police commemoration day observed

Reasi, Oct 21: Police Commemoration Day was observed in this District like other Districts in the memory of martyrs who have sacrificed their lives while performing their duties and paid homage to them at DPL Reasi. SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir-JKPS inaugurated the newly constructed Police Martyrs memorial at DPL Reasi to the Martyrs of J&K Police. Speaking on the occasion SSP Reasi paid rich tribute to the Police Martyrs and prayed for peace to the departed souls.
She read out the names of all the Police Martyrs of year-2020. After the culmination of the Commemoration day Parade all the officers, officials and the Martyrs families paid homage to the Martyrs by laying wreaths at the martyrs memorial.
At the end of the function, Rashmi Wazir, JKPS SSP Reasi accompanied by Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS), Addl. DC Reasi, Jyotsana Sarkar (IFS) DFO Reasi, Anil Katoch Sharma (JKPS) Principal STC Talwara, Purshotam Sharma (JKPS) CO IR 1st Bn. distributed gifts to the next of kin of Martyrs as a token of respect. While speaking with family members of the martyred Jawans, SSP Reasi assured them all possible help and also conveyed to them that they should not feel alone.
The parade was attended by Surjit Kumar Bhagat (JKPS) Addl. SP Reasi, Mumtaz Ali Bhatti Dy.SP DAR Reasi, Iftkhar Ahmed (JKPS) DYSP HQRS. Reasi, Kuljeet Singh (JKPS) SDPO Katra, Satish Bhardwaj (JKPS) SDPO Arnas, CMO Reasi and other officers from Civil /Police Administration/CRPF and also prominent citizens of District Reasi. Besides families of Martyrs also witnessed the commemoration day parade held at DPL Reasi. At the conclusion of the event refreshment was provided to the families of martyred Jawans.
