DDC Samba reviews achievements of My town My pride programme

SAMBA, Oct, 21: District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria today convened a meeting of Executive Officers of four Municipalities of district Samba to review the progress achieved under recently concluded My Town My Pride Programme .
Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour, Chief Executive Officer municipal council Samba, Executive officer of Municipalities of Ramgarh, Vijaypur and Bari-Brahmana attended the meeting.
The executive officers of municipalities presented a detailed presentation regarding various activities carried out during the two day programme of 'My town My pride'. It was informed that a number of new and old development projects were inaugurated and launched including lanes/drains, maintenance of roads.
Sanctioning of new water supply schemes besides sanctioning of PMAY-U cases, new pension cases, plantation drives, sanitation drives and other beneficiary schemes activities were also carried out. The status of civic amenities, street lights, Sewerage treatment plant, solid waste management techniques were also discussed and apprised to the visiting officer.
The DDC directed the concerned officers for resolving the issues of their locality in coordination with Local body presidents while the other major issues will be submitted for taking up with higher authorities. He laid emphasis upon showcasing the development work being carried out in the town for maximum awareness of the general public. He also exhorted upon all the officers to enhance coordination with representatives of Urban Local Bodies members in order to achieve desired results post My town My Pride programme.
