Once upon a time Mehbooba demanded CBI probe into JKCA scam!
10/22/2020 1:28:25 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 21: Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah was questioned by the Enforcement Department (ED) on Wednesday in connection with its probe into the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) scam. This is the second time Farooq Abdullah was called in for questioning this week in the multi-crore scam probe.
As ED questioned Farooq Abdullah, PDP president, who was once an arch rival of NC, Mehbooba Mufti was first to come in the support of NC stalwart.
“Disgraceful that ED has summoned Farooq sahab yet again despite a marathon interrogation that lasted for six hours. The fact that GOI is jittery because of our united front is for all to see. Such actions won’t deter us from pursuing our common goal”, Mehbooba tweeted.
Similarly earlier when senior Abdullah was questioned by ED on October 19 on similar probe, Mehbooba reacted strongly and supported Farooq Abdullah.
“ED’s sudden summon to Farooq sahab displays the extent of GOIs nervousness about mainstream parties in J&K fighting as one unit. Also reeks of political vendetta & wont in the least blunt our collective resolve to fight for our rights”, she stated in series of tweets, adding, “In view of Farooq Sahab being summoned by ED, People’s Alliance issued a statement condemning use of agencies to browbeat mainstream parties in J&K. Despite his age & health issues, he was kept at the ED office for five hours”.
Same Mehbooba Mufti had created uproar in the J&K Legislative Assembly on March 12, 2012, while demanding a CBI probe into this infamous scam involving crores and crores of rupees.
“We do not have trust in the probe here. The way CBI conducted inquiry against Suresh Kalmadi, a similar inquiry should be conducted by CBI against Farooq Abdullah (as head of JKCA in multi-crore scam)”, Mehbooba Mufti had told reporters in the Assembly complex after creating pandemonium.
Mehbooba had staged a walkout after rejection of her adjournment motion by the Speaker and dis-allowed discussiox over the issue in the Assembly. He demand that a First Information Report (FIR) should be registered against him (Farooq)”
“When you have lodged a prima facie FIR against two officers of JKCA Ahsan Mirza and Saleem Khan, the person (Farooq Abdullah) who authorised them the transfer money should also be booked. Why not inquiry against Farooq”? she said.
