Udhampur: DAC on Youth programme discusses activities for current year

UDHAMPUR, Oct, 22: A meeting of District Advisory Committee on Youth programme (DACYP) organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Udhampur (J&K) , Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India today discussed the activities for the current year.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Ashok Kumar.
The meeting was attended by Committee members-District Information Officer, Er. Sajad Bashir Somberia, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ranjeet Singh, District Social Welfare Officer, Priyanka Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Subash Sharma, District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Swaran Singh, besides officers and representatives of other departments.
During the meeting, District Youth Coordinator Khushal Gupta apprised the committee members about the various programmes and activities that are to be organized during the current financial year. He said that the main objective of organizing this meeting is to facilitate coordination among Nehru Yuva Kendra and District Administration as well as other line departments. He said that the focus area of this year would remain AtmaNirbhar Bharat, COVID-19 intervention, Fit India campaign, Establishing Disaster Risk reduction preparedness teams, clean village green village and Jal jagran abhiyan.
He added that the activities done by the volunteers during COVID-19 pandemic were applauded by the committee members to have better coordination with District Administration.
Suggestions were also received from ADDC, DIO, DYSSO & other committee members to have better coordination with District Administration. The role of PRIs, RDD Forest department, Youth Services and sports department in the implementation of the flagship programme of NYKs was also stressed upon and suggestions and recommendations of all were invited to strengthen the implementation of annual action plan 2020-21. In consultation with all the departments, the action plan was approved by the chair.
