							  | | Bring some statute to regulate distributors and company, FAIVM urged Government | | | | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct, 22: On the behalf of Apex trade organization of the nation, Federation of All India Vyapaar Mandal (FAIVM) Sanjay Bansal, President-J&K (Federation of All India Vyapar Mandal) have urged upon the government to bring some statute to regulate distributors and company.
The FAIVM has wrote to Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Union Minister of Industry and Commerce Piyush Goyal to frame some legal frame work in order to protect interest and existence of Distributors and Whole sellers which due to manufacturers' discriminating policies , is at stake.
A lot of harassment and manipulative business practices have been noticed by companies particularly when they deal with brick and mortal distributors and with online sellers.
According to the National General Secretary of FAIVM, VK Bansal, with the growing online, Companies are making policies in favour of online marketplace and these policies are against the interest of distribution-ship. Bansal allege if this kind of policies ny manufacturers prevails for long we may anticipate closure of many distributors and whole sellers' business in near future.
President of Confederation of West Bengal Traders Association Sushil Poddar, who is also convener of the West Bengal and North East of AIVM , said that if the government has to achieve a $5 trillion economy by 2024, then interest of entities involved in supply chain management i.e. distributors and wholesalers needs to be protected.
According to Poddar, companies set a separate MRP for online and something else for offline traders. The result is that physical market traders are unable to compete with online. Poddar is disillusioned that gradually with the discriminating polices of companies, the entire business of distribution ship is shrinking and losing business at the hands of online market place .This is biggest reason customers are not buying from local market place are difference MRP for online and higher MRP for offline.
CH Krishna, President of the Federation of All India Distributors, says that only distributors and wholesalers are considered in the organized sector. Most of GST in downline is collected and deposited to Government by Distributors and Whole sellers. Retails being part of unorganized sector are either not covered under GST or opted for composition scheme. So, GST collection may affect adversary in case businesses of distribution comes to closure.
