Addressing the gathering, newly elected Chairman Balbir Singh thanked all the members for expressing their full faith in his abilities. He said, "Tourism Industry in J&K is passing through the toughest phase of recession, especially after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5th, 2019. Further the spread of Covid-19 Pandemic has proved disastrous for our fraternity. We have a big challenge ahead to revive the business which is in shambles.
While lauding the services of outgoing office bearers, elected president Raman Sharma said that the services rendered by the previous body was highly commendable. It was due to their hard efforts that the association was able to project its certain demands before authorities and removed many administrative hiccups obstructing the smooth operations of tour and travel agencies.
