RAJOURI, Oct 22: Authorities here in Rajouri's Nowshera seized a Fair Price Shop (FPS) of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs for gross violation of ration distribution and misconduct and issuance of ration quota allegedly in a suspicious manner.
Officials said that issue came to fore during Block Diwas when locals from Bareri and nearby areas complained before authorities for improper distribution of ration from Fair Price Shop at Bareri after which on Thursday, a team headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera SS Sambyal along with Tehsildar Nowshera and Tehsil Supply Officer visited the area and took stock of the issuance of ration quota from FPS as well as pending quota.
"It came to fore that ration dealer has issued a huge quantity of quota without following due procedure with ration of many beneficiaries was shown as issued on portal while those beneficiaries were yet to receive quota in reality." officials said.
Taking note, Additional Deputy Commissioner ordered seizure of said FPS and also directed for suspension of licens of said FPS.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, SS Sambyal said that gross negligence of this nature cannot be tolerated.
Locals while hailing the quick and prompt action of authorities have demanded to keep a close check on working of FPSes across the district.
