KATHUA, Oct 22:- In view of upcoming Pancahyat by Elections- 2020 , a meeting of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers was today chaired by the Deputy Commissioner, Kathua O.P Bhagat, who is also District Panchayat Election Officer, to discuss modalities for smooth conduct of the upcoming polls. It was informed in the meeting that 207 polling stations have been established for free and fair conduct of By Elections scheduled for 23 Sarpanchs and 33 Panchs vacant seats across 19 blocks of the district. On the occasion, election training was also imparted to the election officers by the master trainers.
The DPEO exhorted upon the participants to get themselves acquainted with their duties and responsibilities during the election period for conduct of the process in a total hassle free manner. He also asked for ensuring strict adherence to MCC and other guidelines of Election Commission of India.
The election procedures and duties of election officers were also discussed in length during the training session.
Among others, DDEO Kathua Ashwani Kumar, Master Trainers, besides other officers including 79 ROs and AROs were present in the meeting. |
