| Retirement Age of Government Officers is Still 60 years: Raina | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct, 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K President Ravinder Raina in a video posted on Facebook said that no change has been made on retirement age of Government employees in J&K and for more transparency and accountability LG administration only streamlined the rules that after 48 years of age or on the completion of 22 years of service, government will review the performance and if only anybody found involved in corruption/malpractices then government can take actions against the corrupt officer.
He said, "Jammu and Kashmir service rules have been streamlined but a government officer's retirement age will remain to be 60 years and no changes have been made regarding it".
Adding, "Yes, after 48 years of age or 22 years of service, the government will review the work and records of the govt. employee, if he's found guilty of corruption or is a non-performer and have reached the age of 48 years or have completed the 22 years of services, strict actions will be taken against them".
He said that the changes were made to enhance the transparency between the government and the people of J&K, and not to harass anyone among the government employees.
"The retirement age was 60 years and will be 60 years," he emphasized
Adding that earlier when an official was regarded as deadwood by the government, they would knock the doors of the court and the case would go on and eventually be reinstated, but now under the changes made in the law such things will not happen. |
