SAMBA, Oct, 23: Following the directions of Lieutenant Governor regarding a grievance raised at the Awami Mulaqat, the district administration, Samba today carried out an anti encroachment drive at Vijaypur adjoining the Petrol Pump on national highway and dismantled concrete construction raised over a water body.
Giving details about the anti encroachment drive, Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria reached the encroached site along with a team of officers and pressed a JCB machine to demolish the illegal structure. The team included Tehsildar Vijaypur, Pardeep Singh, Dysp, Lov Karan, Executive Officer Municipality Samba, Ravi Saini, SHO Sudhir Sadhotra besides other revenue and police personnel carried out the demolition.
The said encroachment on the Nallah (water body) was there for the last 40 years and various shops, residential rooms besides other concrete constructions were raised on it illegally. The revenue team after verification of the records dismantled complete structures after a daylong anti encroachment drive. |
