DDC Rajouri flags-off 60 students for trekking expedition

RAJOURI, Oct 23: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Friday flagged off a group of 60 students of different schools for a trekking expedition to four tourist spots of tehsil Thanamandi including Shadra Sharief, Deragali, Mangota and Pangai.
The trekking expedition has been organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports Rajouri.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the main objective of this Educational Tour is to expose the students to historical and educational importance of various monuments and places of cultural heritage and religious places.
The DDC also apprised the students about the importance and values of such tours and said the educational tours play an important role in educating the students about their culture and heritage.
He advised them to enjoy the expedition in and avoid littering during the expedition and keep the environment neat and clean by not throwing polythene and other things which pollute the nature. He also asked them to follow all the SOPs guidelines during their tour to avoid the risk of COVID19 infection.
Among others present on the occasion were Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional SP, Liyaqat Chowdhary, District Social Welfare Officer, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt and District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mohd Yousif Lone.
