JAMMU, Oct, 24: Terming amendment in SRO 226 as another gift of Modi government to JKites on the eve of festive season of Diwali, the Team Mask Force said that the decision is irrational and unilaterally taken by the government
TMF chairman Vijay Sharma said that by amending service rules the government of JKUT is empowered to take legal and guaranteed action against corrupt officials despite of their own agencies working to deal with it.
Sharma recalled media reports wherein BJP JKUT unit President Ravinder Raina clarified that the 48/22 rider in the amendment is for corrupt officials and that normal retirement age would be 60 only. Sharma questioned that the Government allows in other term that the said employee if indulging in corruption would be dealt with only after his rendering of 22 yrs of service and not before that. Earlier, Raina had clarified for Toll plazas but instead of two the number increased to four and one near Akhnoor is in the offing. Then property Tax was imposed which has been kept in abeyance by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha only after wide spread protests lodged all over JKUT. Sharma appealed Central Government to streamline the policies in respect of JKUT lest people resort to agitation on streets. |
