| Govt PG College Rajouri celebrates UN Day | | |

Rajouri, Oct 24: To mark UN 75th anniversary, the Science Club of Government PG College Rajouri organized an International level online quiz on the topic “United Nations: Shaping Our Future Together" today. Principal of College, Prof. (Dr.) Shakeel Ahmed Raina who inaugurated the quiz, said that the United Nations played tremendous role in peace building, attaining sustainable development, tackling climate change and providing food to hungry since its inception in 1945 and this celebration is the tribute to its commitment and working tirelessly for peace for 75 years. He appreciated the members of Science Club to join the nation (India) in celebrating UN 75th Anniversary that is founding member of United Nations and elected 8th time as a non-permanent member of UN Security Council with an overwhelming majority in June this year.
It becomes so pertinent to celebrate rather link this organization (United Nations) to grassroots by raising awareness among youth and students through such initiatives. It’s a forum for peace and solidarity between people of planet to discuss most pressing issues for their shared future as one human family.
Its role is so evident from winning Nobel Peace Prize 12 times. “We congratulate United Nations’ World Food Programme, for winning this year’s Nobel Peace Prize too”, he added. Prof. Raina also released the activity calendar of Science Club on this occasion. |
