Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct, 25: When everyone's home in the country is being illuminated with the 100 percent electrification goal of the government has been achieved which as provided in reports, three out of five panchayats in Dessa revenue village of Doda district are in dark. There are five panchayats in Dessa review village viz. Gai, Thana, Bhata, Mallan and Shenkly. So far only Gai and Bhata are having electricity in some areas and remaining three panchayats which houses two thirds of the population are without electricity. The villages in Dessa such as Mallan, Shienkly, Kunda, Grammary, Zartund, Motla, Saras, Kralan, Jodu, Gorkhin, Chanderbhatan, Kothi, Mushal, Nagri and Gratal have never been connected with electric line even for a single day. And in the remaining hamlets where the electric poles were installed under RGGVY scheme, the condition of these is very miserable.
The work was started in 2013 by PDD with an objective to provide electricity to poor people of Dessa village but only few villages in two panchayats only were covered. Though many years back government had disseminated free solar lights, but these were insufficient and now even these are not working, and these are out of order now.
