Shiksha Niketan organizes Dusshra celebrations

JAMMU, Oct, 26: Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, Jammu organized the "Dussehra celebrations" with great zeal and enthusiasm on 26th october, 2020. On this day, the school was decorated with colourful handmade buntings. This festival is familiar among the people as Vijayadashami and is celebrated at the end of the Navaratras every year. It is observed on the tenth day according to the Hindu Calendar in the month of Ashvin or Kartik. Dussehra symbolizes the triumph of the "Good over the evil". The main motive of the "Dussehra Celebrations" is to promote goodwill , peace and harmony in the society and also to remind ourselves of our rich cultural heritage. On the eve of the "Dussehra Celebrations", Sh. Rameshwar Mengi, the worthy Principal of the school addressed the staff members especially the "Teaching Faculty" to inculcate and inspire the feeling of "Love and Respect" for our "Rich and Glorious" cultural values and traditions among the students for their "Mental Growth and Moral Awakening" to enable them (students) to grow into responsible, truthful, enlightened and progressive would be citizens of this modern global society. His worthyself also prayed for the "End" of the prevalent Covid -19 pandemic.
