Brahman Sabha celebrates accession day

JAMMU, Oct, 26: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha (DBPS) today celebrated accession day with fervor and enthusiasm. In this connection a simple but an impressive function was held today in the premises of the Sabha under the Chairmanship of Ved Prakash Sharma, president of DBPS. A large number of prominent citizens and Sabha activists were present on the occasion.
“The role played by the nationalist forces of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir State also deserves praise but the contribution of Army cannot be ignored and credit must be given to them,” Sharma said this while addressing the function.
Sharma further said that a movement was launched in Jammu to oppose “Do Pradhan, Do Nishan and Do Vidhan”. Dr Syama Prasad Mukerjee became the first victim and died in custody at Srinagar. He said, this is the first case of custodial killing of independent India. The struggle was long and arduous. It finally came to end on August 5, 2019 when Modi Govt announced its epoch making decision abrogating the said articles.
Speaking on the occasion of the Sabha Advocate PC Sharma appealed to the Prime Minister to award ‘Bharat Ratna’ to Late Duggar Ratna Pt Prem nath Dogra for his exemplary contributions for the state of J&K.
This was also decided that Balidan Divas of Major Som Nath Sharma will be held on 3rd of Nov. 2020 in the premises of the Sabha.
