JK reports 364 fresh cases of Corona Virus, six more people die in past 24 hours

SRINAGAR, Oct 26: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 364 fresh cases of Corona Virus today following which the total number of positive cases is 92,225. With six fresh deaths the death toll reached 1,444 in the union territory.
Jammu district reported 108 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 76 cases, Baramulla district 56 cases, Kupwara district 25 cases, Pulwama district 15 cases, Budgam and Ganderbal districts 13 cases each, Poonch district 10 cases, Anantnag and Ramban districts seven cases each, Shopian and Doda districts six cases each, Bandipora, Kathua and Reasi districts five cases each, Udhampur district four cases, Samba district two cases and Kulgam district one case.
Srinagar and Baramulla districts reported two deaths each followed by a death each in Udhampur and Doda districts. So far 964 virus affected patients have died in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of people who have died due to virus is 480.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 364 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 147 from Jammu division and 217 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 92,225. Also six COVID-19 deaths have been reported; two from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 627 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 229 from Jammu Division and 398 from Kashmir Division. Out of 92,225 positive cases, 7,296 are active positive, 83,485 have recovered and 1,444 have died; 480 in Jammu division and 964 in Kashmir division.
Out of 21, 94,292 test results available, 21, 02,067 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 42,510 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 18,198 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 7,296 in isolation and 46,825 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 68,747 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 18,729 positive cases, 1,645 active positive, 16,738 recovered, 346 deaths; Budgam has 5,877 positive cases, 327 active positive, 5,458 recovered, 92 deaths; Baramulla has 5,675 positive cases, 1,414 active positive, 4,118 recovered, 143 deaths; Pulwama has 4,573 positive cases, 243 active positive, 4,250 recovered, 80 deaths; Kupwara has 4,311 positive cases, 400 active positive, 3,840 recovered, 71 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,183 positive cases, 338 active positive, 3,771 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 3,981 positive cases, 269 active positive, 3,667 recovered, 45 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,440 positive cases, 194 active positive, 3,214 recovered, 32 deaths; Kulgam has 2,460 positive cases, 104 active positive, 2,310 recovered, 46 deaths; Shopian has 2,177 positive cases, 88 active positive, 2,054 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 17,013 positive cases, 890 active positive, 15,874 recovered, 249 deaths; Rajouri has 3,172 positive cases, 126 active positive, 3,000 recovered, 46 deaths; Udhampur has 2,637 positive cases, 105 active positive, 2,503 recovered, 29 deaths; Doda has 2,615 positive cases, 155 active positive, 2,415 recovered, 45 deaths; Kathua has 2,387 positive cases, 45 active positive, 2,312 recovered, 30 deaths.
“Samba has 2,135 positive cases, 372 active positive, 1,738 recovered, 25 deaths; Poonch has 2,219 positive cases, 267 active positive, 1,930 recovered, 22 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,849 positive cases, 173 active positive, 1,662 recovered, 14 deaths; Ramban has 1,563 positive cases, 66 active positive, 1,484 recovered, 13 deaths and Reasi has 1,229 positive cases, 75 active positive, 1,147 recovered, seven deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 92,225 positive cases, 9,620 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
