New land laws will open floodgates of development in J&K: Kavinder
10/27/2020 11:51:46 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct, 27: The new land laws notified by the Central Government allowing all countrymen to buy land in J&K will bring vistas of opportunities for the people of J&K, who were earlier deprived of availing benefits of avenues arising out of such provisions which the successive governments have barred thus blocking the development to make inroads in this part of the country.
This was stated by senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister of erstwhile J&K State Kavinder Gupta while interacting with party workers and delegations here on Tuesday.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that the amendment in the land laws will mark the beginning of new era of development in the Union Territory with new avenues waiting for the residents to become part of this new journey of progress and prosperity which the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has promised to one and all living in the UT of J&K.
The senior BJP leader made it clear that before repeal of Article 370 and Article 35A in August last year, non-residents could not buy any immovable property in J&K however, the fresh change has paved way for them to buy land here, which is likely to fortify the development profile of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. "The new change will open floodgates of development in J&K which the region was denied in the past over 70 years due myopic and discriminatory policies of Congress and other regional mainstream parties which ruled the erstwhile state at different points of time", he said adding that BJP-led central government is determined to bring at par the status of development profile of J&K with the top states in the country and provide equal opportunities to its residents.
