AIBCF demands central law for OBC reservation
10/27/2020 11:55:44 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct, 27: All India Backward Classes Federation (AIBCF) J&K unit , held an awareness camp at village Laswara Tehsil Bishnah to awaken the OBC people about the fact that Central law for OBC Reservation has yet not been extended to JK UT, inspite of abrogation of article 370 and repealing of constitution of erstwhile J&K State. The event was chaired by F.C Satia, President of the Federation.
In the meeting, the demand of Central OBC Law based on Mandal Commission Report, which has provisioned 27% quota for OBCs in all states and UTs of the country was raised. All members, expressed anguish over the decision of Central Govt to continue old law of reservation (Reservation Act 2004) which was enacted by erstwhile state Govt under the separate constitution.
F.C Satia stated that Govt is boasting of One Nation, One Constitution and One Flag but not ready to achieve the goal of "One Nation, One Reservation" as it is reluctant to extend central OBC law in J&K UT. Govt has extended more than 150 Central laws to the JK UT but not OBC law. This shows Govt is not sincere from within. It was unanimously decided that Federation shall think of the option of protest Rally, if OBC reservation is not brought at par with other UTs of the country.
R.K Chalotra (Vice President) stated that Revenue officers in the Tehsils are not showing supportive behavior towards OBC people which is a cause of concern. Most of the Tehsildars don't study the ruling for central OBC certificate and harass the applicants. Others who were present include Kewal Kumar Fotra, (Joint Secretary), Balwant Kataria (Gen Secretary) Mehar Singh Labana (Vice President), Vijay Prajapati, Ramesh Lal (Panch), Sardari Lal, Ashok Virdhi, Girdhari Lal Sansi (Vice President), Kuldeep Raj, Babu Ram Manga Ram, Paras Ram etc.
