JAMMU, Oct, 27: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) produced charge sheet of case FIR No. 25/2014 u/s 5(1)(c), 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act & sections 120-B, 109 RPC in Anti-Corruption Court Baramulla.
The instant case was registered against Abdul Rashid Wani then Chief Agriculture Officer (CAO) Kupwara, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah (then ASCO Kupwara), Abdul Majid Dar (then SCA Kupwara), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Lone (then SCA Kupwara), Abdul Qayoom Shah (then Field Assistant Kralpora), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat (then Field Assistant Kralpora), Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Khan (then Field Assistant Kralpora), Nazir Ahmad Mir R/o Rawathpora Kupwara (Beneficiary), Tasnima Banoo R/o Rawathpora Kupwara (Beneficiary) and Abdul Rashid Mir R/o Thandipora Kupwara (Beneficiary).
During investigation it was found that that accused officers/officials of Agriculture Department in league with private beneficiaries, booked expenditure against construction of Protection Bund at Nallah Tulwari at Rawathpora Kupwara which was actually constructed by Block Development Office Kralpora a few years back. As such by abuse of their official positions, they have misappropriated the funds which were meant for carrying out flood protection works on Nallah Tulwari and thereby caused a loss of Rs 2,47,993 to the State Exchequer.
The chargesheet was produced before the Hon'ble Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Baramulla after Government accorded prosecution sanction in respect of in-service accused public servants vide order No. 52-JK-GAD (Vig) of 2020 dated 15.10.2020.
All the ten (10) accused public servants and private beneficiaries were arrested and produced in custody before the Court along with the charge sheet against them.
