Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 28: The J&K unit of the all Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJK<F) affiliated to Akhil Bhartyia Rashtryia Shakshik Mahasangh J&K UT, has taken a serious notice of the dilly-dallying attitude of the J&K government and the district education officers towards the promotion of teachers.
At the same time, the teachers have taken up the issue of recent letters issued by the education department with Director school Education Jammu last week a committee headed by Nebraska Sharma State Secretary AJKLTF, directing teachers for filling their bio-datas in Google form to fix seniority for DPC but some districts due to the incompetence of the District Education Offices, the promotions for the teachers have not been done for a long time.
Devraj Thakur President of AJKLTF in a statement here today said it seems that the educational and socio-economic interest of students and teachers have no place in the royal priorities of the UT Government and the officials of the Education Department. He said in this critical period, the government is keeping tight lipped and no policy has been framed for promotion of teachers last six years.Teachers promotions are being delayed without any justification since 2014. The school teachers are facing professional loss due to the delay.
He said that AJKLTF would continue its fight outside the District Education Offices and teachers from each zone will sit in strike every day “If the matter is not addressed in near future we would hold a massive protest in front of the Directorate of School Education Jammu” said Thakur .
The teachers will hold a symbolic dharna and protest in front of the district headquarters, keeping in view the coronavirus guidelines in near future. Leaders and workers of various zonal units will also be present in the protest and press their demands on the J&K government.
