Youth Congress lambasted Central Govt over Land Laws
10/28/2020 11:49:47 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 27: Youth Congress J&K lambasted BJP led Central Government for betraying the people of the erstwhile State and said that BJP has once again backstabbed the innocent people of J&K by passing the Land Laws. In a statement issued here today, Dr Jahanzaib Sirwal, State Spokesperson, JKPYC strongly resented the Central Government for repealing 11 laws regarding the purchase of land and others laws entitled to the residents of erstwhile J&K state. He said BJP led government failed the people of the UT and to protect the land rights, adding that now and again have BJP betrayed people of J&K. The Centre government has notified land laws, paving the way for any citizen of India to buy land in Jammu and Kashmir. The ministry of home affairs in its release stated that the order will be called the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Adaptation of Central Laws) Third Order, 2020, he added.
Dr Jahanzaib stated that the land laws are unacceptable and Youth Congress is against such anti-people laws and must be wiped out at the earliest. “The General Clauses Act, 1897 applies for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for interpretation of laws in force in the territory of India,” Dr Jahanzaib said. Even the tokenism of domicile has been done away with when purchasing non-agricultural land & transfer of agricultural land has been made easier, Dr Jahanzaib said. The Central Government is misleading the people of J&K and has now passed the land laws without taking people, political parties and stakeholders into confidence which is against people of J&K, Dr Jahanzaib said. Dr Jahanzaib said that the BJP has been degrading the democracy in India since its initiation as has damaged the federal system of governance and applied the Authoritarianism on J&K. This is a direct attack with the aim to wipe out the demography and destroy the cultural and historical legacy of J&K, he added. “Central Government must come up with a concrete laws and regulations to protect the land and jobs to save the demographic structure of J&K. All the rights of J&K should be protected under the constitution of India,” Dr Jahanzaib demanded.
