JKEEGA holds Guidance Council meet
10/28/2020 11:49:54 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) today held a meeting of its Guidance Council at Conference Hall SLDC Complex Jammu under the Chairmanship of Er.Sachin Tickoo General secretary.
During the meeting members Guidance Council and the executive council participated to discuss threadbare the progress on the demands projected before the Government from time to time in respect of the engineering cadres. The Guidance Council members raised concern over delay in regularization process, filling of the clear vacancies at all levels, non-issuance of SRO in respect of the Assured career Progression scheme which had been passed by the erstwhile State Cabinet.
The members deliberated the recent ban on transfers till April 2021 issued by the General Administration department and sought that the period till April 2021 should be used to finalize a transparent transfer policy in Power Development Department post unbundling into corporations. The transfer policy is much needed to streamline the affairs of the Corporations and create atmosphere of transparency and accountability.
The members also demanded that the Government must honour the report of the committee framed at the time of unbundling the department into corporations for reorganization of the department on professional lines. However, much progress has not been made into the reform process and there have been no creations as promised in the unbundling process and there has been no creation of much needed enforcement wing setup to give an impetus to the legal framework of curbing thefts and conducting inspections.
JKEEGA seeks strong commitment from the Union Territory Administration towards resolution of the issues raised by engineering fraternity and time bound redressal of the basic demands projected by the leadership including regularization and Assured career progression among others.
