Final Step
10/28/2020 11:50:57 PM
By amending the land laws, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken the final step towards complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the country. Now, anyone can buy land in J&K without any prerequisite formalities.
The Government of India’s decision to throw open J&K for all has evoked sharp reaction from the Kashmir centric politicians. This decision is last nail in their coffin and they have been left with nothing to sell. Now, J&K is like any other part of the country.
Prior to this amendment Kashmiris could buy property in any part of the country but residents of other places were not allowed to purchase any immovable asset in J&K.
The GoI throwing open the union territory for everyone will lead to more and more people investing in the Union Territory. During the past 70-years none of the big companies and business houses could invest in J&K as they couldn’t buy any assets in the erstwhile state.
When the Centre abrogated J&K’s special status on August 5, 2019, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had made it clear that J&K would be brought at par with other states. Revocation of J&K’s special status has brought the erstwhile State closer to the country. The Centre’s decision has addressed the concerns of nationalist people. In fact all the citizens have endorsed the Centre’s move.
The Kashmir centric leaders, who during the past seven decades just resorted to blackmailing and rhetoric don’t stand anywhere today. The fear which they had created during all these years has disappeared. People are coming forward in droves to hold the tricolor close to their heart and many young leaders are making their presence felt on the ground.
People have accepted the Centre’s decision to abrogate J&K’s special status and it has been clearly evident during the past one year. Not a single protest was staged anywhere to oppose the Centre’s move.
People are busy in their daily chores and want to live a peaceful life. They are least bothered about what the Kashmir centric politicians are saying or preaching. They have already become a part of a change and are striving hard to make their lives better.
Now, J&K is open for all. It will help in boosting the activities which couldn’t even start during all these years. Everyone needs to understand that if J&K has to progress it has to be opened up and the process has already commenced.
