DDC listens to people's issues at Reasi

REASI, Oct, 28: As a part of the Government's ambitious public outreach program-Jan Abhiyan, District Administration Reasi today organized Block Diwas events across the district Reasi.
District Development Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib attended the Block Diwas proceedings at District Headquarter and listened to the issues of public importance. BDC Chairperson, Sarpanchs, Panchs and Public of Block Pouni, Reasi, and Bhoomag participated in the Block Diwas program.
Several public issues including road connectivity to uncovered areas, better drinking water supply and augmentation of the Health Infrastructure were projected by the PRIs. The specific issues which were projected by the PRIs were Road connectivity from Simbal Chowa to Dera Baba, installation of power distribution transformer at Chappra mohalla and Pouni, Drinking water augmentation at Mari A & B, repair of damaged Hand pumps at Talwara lower, Provision of electricity and water at Panchayat ghar Kothian, Post office service at Bharakh and other issues. The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the demands raised by the people and their representatives. Some of the issues were redressed on the spot, while others were forwarded to the concerned departments, with strict directions, to resolve the same by the next Block Diwas.
While interacting with the Block Development Council Chairpersons, Sarpnchs, Panchs, and the public, the DDC said that the Block Diwas is being organized across the length and breadth of the JK UT, with the sole objective to provide more transparent, accountable, public-friendly and responsive administration to the people. "This initiative of the Government is contributing immensely to Good Governance", she said.
BDC chairperson, Parveen Akhter, Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sanjay Badyal, Assistant Commissioner Development, Anirudh Rai, District Social Welfare Officer, Gulshan Sharma, Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and consumers Affairs, Mohd Sayeed, Chief Education Officer, EXNs of different executing agencies, Officers from Agriculture ,Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries ,Tehsildars, BDOs and other officers were present at the Block Diwas proceedings.
