KISHTWAR, Oct, 28: Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Kishtwar has booked seven traders for violation of rules across the district. The erring traders were booked for defective weighing instruments, less quantity in packages against declared value and lack of proper declarations on pre-packaged commodities. A composition sum of Rs 36,000 (Thirty six thousand only) was recovered from the violators. The market checking was conducted under the supervision of Joint Controller LMD Jammu at Kishtwar town, Shashoo Padder, Sarthal, Shalimar, Hasti, Mughalmaidan and adjoining areas. The traders were advised to use only verified weighing and measuring instruments for commercial transactions and to desist from sale of Non-Standard pre-packaged commodities without required declarations for the information of consumers. |
